What does a Pathologist do?

Pathologists are specialist physicians that undertake research and testing of medical specimens for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Pathologist Role

Our laboratory is hiring an experienced Pathologist who will be responsible for conducting research, performing specimen tests, and diagnosing diseases and illnesses. As a Pathologist, you will be tasked with analysing tissue samples, blood, and bodily fluids, identifying and categorising abnormalities, using medical software, and discussing possible treatment plans with physicians. You will write reports and stay up-to-date with the latest medical practice and pathology developments.

  • Identifying abnormalities and diseases.

Pathologist Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Biomedical Science.
  • Completion of a 3-year Scientist Training Programme.
  • Completion of a 5-year Higher Specialist Scientist Training.
  • Or,
  • 5-year Degree in Medicine.
  • 2-year General Training Foundation Course.
  • 5-6-year Specialist Pathology Training Programme.
  • And,
  • Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
